A biomimetic total synthesis of (+)-ainsliadimer A.
A protecting group free and biomimetic total synthesis of (+)-ainsliadimer A has been accomplished in 14 steps from α-santonin. The synthesis relies on a hydrogen bonding promoted [4 + 2]-hetero-Diels-Alder dimerization to afford the key homodimer intermediate, which demonstrates the feasibility of using nonenzymatic conditions to achieve the proposed biosynthesis.
متن کاملBiomimetic total synthesis of (±)-yezo'otogirin A.
The total synthesis of yezo'otogirin A has been achieved via a biosynthetically-inspired strategy. Diastereoselective synthesis of pre-yezo'otogirin A, the proposed biosynthetic pre-cursor of yezo'otogirin A, was accomplished in eight steps from 3-ethoxy-2-cyclohexenone. A biomimetic oxidative radical cyclization was then used to construct the unique tricyclic ring system of yezo'otogirin A. Th...
متن کاملTotal synthesis of plakortide E and biomimetic synthesis of plakortone B.
The total synthesis of plakortide E (1a) is reported. A novel palladium-catalyzed approach towards 1,2-dioxolanes as well as an alternative substrate-controlled route leading exclusively to cis-highly substituted 1,2-dioxolanes have been developed. A lipase-catalyzed kinetic resolution was employed to provide optically pure 1,2-dioxolane central cores. Coupling of the central cores and side cha...
متن کاملBiomimetic synthesis of Tramadol.
Tramadol has recently been isolated from the roots and bark of Nauclea latifolia. A plausible biosynthetic pathway has been proposed and the product-precursor relationship has been probed by (13)C position-specific isotope analysis. By further exploring this pathway, we demonstrate that a key step of the proposed pathway can be achieved using mild conditions that mimic in vivo catalysis.
